Vaishno Devi is open for pilgrims throughout the year, but the best time to undertake the journey is between the months of March and October. A lot of pilgrims visit Vaishno Devi between these months as the weather is cool and pleasant, but maximum visitors plan their trip during the Navratras.
You can plan your Vaishno Devi trip with your family with 3 to 4 days in hand. 3 to 4 days will be enough for a relaxing vacation, you can easily spend 1 night in Katra, 1 night at the Bhawan and return back to Katra
Situated in a cave in the Trikuta mountain in Jammu and Vaishno Devi Tours, the Vaishno Devi temple is one of the most popular pilgrimages in India. Perched at an altitude of 5200 feet, it involves a trek of nearly 12 km from the base camp at Katra.
There are no specific opening and closing times for the Vaishno Devi Temple, or even Vaishno Devi, Jammu timings, although the aarti timings are 5:00, am to 12:00 pm and between 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on a daily basis.
It can be covered in 5 minutes with the ropeway. The air-conditioned cable car can carry 45 people at a time and is operational one way only. The panoramic aerial view of Bhairo Valley from the ropeway is stunning. The Vaishno Devi Mandir is 300 metres away from the drop point.
